Why Our Settlement Process Holds Up

Settlement decisions at mexbox are tied to official league data, not internal estimates. We apply the same rule set to every wager on a given market, and those rules are visible on each bet slip before you confirm. Here's what keeps the process consistent.

Official League Data

NFL, NBA, MLB and NHL results come from official league feeds. We do not settle bets on unofficial score reports or early third-party data that hasn't been confirmed.

Rules Locked at Placement

The settlement rules that apply to your bet are the ones in effect when you place it. We do not change market rules retroactively once a wager is confirmed.

Void and Push Transparency

When a bet pushes or voids, your account wallet reflects the returned stake within minutes of settlement. You can see the reason — push, void, postponement — directly in Bet History.

Dispute Review Path

If you flag a settlement error, our team checks the official result source and the market rule set. We document the review and respond with a clear explanation, not a form rejection.

mexbox Understand How Each Bet Type Gets Resolved

Understand How Each Bet Type Gets Resolved

When a game goes final, our system pulls the official result from the relevant league — NFL, NBA, MLB or NHL — and settles your bet against the line you locked in at the time of placement. Moneyline bets pay if your side wins outright. Point spread bets settle by the final margin, including overtime unless the market specifies otherwise. Same-game parlays

require every leg to win; one loss voids the entire parlay payout. For player props, we use the official box score as the source of record. If a game is postponed and not replayed within the window stated on the market, we void the bet and return your stake.

Key Bet Settlement Terms, Explained Simply

These are the terms that appear on your bet slip and in your Bet History. Knowing what each one means helps you read settlement outcomes without having to contact support every time.

01
What does 'Push' mean in sportsbook betting?

A push happens when the final score lands exactly on the spread or total you bet. No win, no loss — your original stake is returned to your account wallet automatically.

02
What is a 'Void' bet?

A void bet is canceled, usually because the event was postponed, suspended or the market was pulled before the game finished. Your stake comes back in full.

03
What does 'Action' mean on a player prop?

Action means your bet stands regardless of lineup changes. If the player you bet on does not play, some markets default to no action — always check the specific prop rules at placement.

04
How does 'Overtime' affect spread and total bets?

For NFL and NBA markets, overtime counts toward the final result unless the market label says 'regulation only.' Always check the market description before placing your wager.

05
What is a 'Correlated Parlay' and how does it settle?

A correlated parlay combines legs where the outcome of one affects the other — for example, a quarterback passing for lots of yards and his team winning. We may restrict certain correlated combinations; check each parlay as you build it.

06
What does 'Official Result' mean for settlement purposes?

The official result is the score confirmed by the governing league body — NFL, NBA, MLB or NHL. We settle all markets against that confirmed result, not preliminary or unofficial reports.

Common Questions About How Bets Get Settled

These are the questions we hear most often around bet settlement. If yours isn't covered here, live chat in your account dashboard is the fastest way to get a specific answer.

Most bets settle within minutes of the official final result being confirmed by the league. Same-game parlays may take slightly longer if individual player stat legs need box score verification.

If one leg of a same-game parlay is voided, the parlay recalculates with the remaining legs. The payout adjusts to reflect the new odds for the surviving legs, not the original combined odds.

Yes. Every market has a rule set visible on the bet slip before you confirm. Tap the information icon next to the market name to see how that specific bet type settles.

If the NFL reschedules the game within the window shown on the market, your bet stays active. If it falls outside that window, we void the wager and return your stake to your account wallet.

If the player takes part in the game at all, the bet generally settles on whatever stat total he recorded. If he does not play at all, the market rules at placement determine whether it settles or voids.

Open Bet History in your account, find the bet in question, and tap Contact Support. Include the bet ID. We check the official result source and the market rule set and reply with a full breakdown.
